


Traditionally during the coronation service, British peers and their spouses have dressed in ceremonial attire and coronets noting their ranks. There has been speculation that the use of this crown may draw controversy because it contains the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Indian Subcontinent, which Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan demand from the British government.

Due to Elizabeth's advanced age, Charles's coronation has been planned for years under the code name Operation Orb, reported in the press as Operation Golden Orb.
